Winter Warmth and Safety Campaign 2024
Spring is upon us, but before we say goodbye to Winter 2024, we wanted to share some of the lives you've helped us to touch! Thanks to generous foundations and support from individuals to our Winter Warmth & Safety campaign, we have been able to tackle 14 Critical Pro Repair projects for struggling nearby families so far.
The Community We Want in 2024
We hope you and your family are enjoying a wonderful holiday. So many questions await us in 2024. Will inflation relent? Will the housing market shift? Will conflicts around the world come to an end? And yet, there is one question we can answer through programs like HomeFront: What kind of community do we want in the New Year? We wanted supporters like you to be the first to hear of a very special project we just completed to give you a glimpse of what's possible.
2023—A Year of Empathy in Action
We thought we would give you a quick break from the holiday hustle and bustle to share what you helped us accomplish this year. Together, we assisted more than 50 of our neediest neighbors. As our gift to you, we wanted to share with you a video thank you from Rafaela, one of our year-round Critical Pro Repair (CPR) service beneficiaries. But, first, we came into 2023 with many big questions. Let's see if we got any answers.
Giving Tuesday 2023
We thought the best way to celebrate this year’s Giving Tuesday was to bring you with us while we tackle two of our Critical Pro Repair (CPR) projects for deserving families in Hartford.
Thankful for YOU!
Thanksgiving is a really big deal for us in HomeFront. We have cause to give thanks for so much. That is because of you and all you bring to the table. Our service would not be possible without you, the time you carve out of your busy lives, your ideas, your expertise, your compassion, and your precious donations. You help to make sure that our help continues for our neighbors who probably never felt they would need it: older adults who have outlived their savings, “solo agers” who have no family nearby, veterans, persons with disabilities, single-parent households and families facing adversity through job loss or illness.
Honoring Veterans Where They Call Home
Together, we have assisted 11 veterans and counting so far this year. As we celebrate this Veterans Day, we re-commit ourselves to doing all that we can to serve those who served our country.
“The Right to Re-charge”
All of us in HomeFront hope our volunteers and supporters have plans in the works to unwind and re-charge over the summer if you haven’t already. Whether it’s fishing, trading in a paint brush for a barbeque basting brush or putting aside that storm door installation manual in favor of a good summer read—you have earned it! After all, many families are now able to breathe a sigh of relief after the major repairs you helped us to make on their homes.

No Ordinary Winter's Day
A mild and snow-free winter so far has certainly spelled disappointment for the children of our community yearning for some snow days. Here in HomeFront, we seized on unseasonably warm conditions to remove heartache of a different kind for our most vulnerable neighbors. And we did it, as always, thanks to your support. This is why there is no such thing as an ordinary Winter's day for HomeFront. For local struggling families with no other recourse for help, each day, we are either working to help them, directly helping them or sharing the news that their wait for health and safety repairs is over.
