Giving Tuesday
If there is anyone who knows how much of a difference one day can make, it’s our HomeFront volunteers and supporters! After all, we’ve moved mountains together on our one-day repair events. So, Giving Tuesday is right up our alley.
This is a challenging time of the year for us when the urgency of requests for repairs surges during the colder months. Luckily, we have a new tool in the HomeFront toolbox to help families in need, year-round. You may have heard of it. We call it, Critical Pro Repairs (CPR).
In honor of Giving Tuesday, we wanted to share with our closest friends a brief video clip of emergency repairs we have been able to deliver through our CPR projects. Watch how your generosity changed the life of Carlos, a local gentleman who faced losing his home because his bathroom wasn’t equipped for his need. You’ll also get to meet Denise, Pablito and Frank.
For every story like Carlos’s, there are five more families in your community who need help with targeted, urgent issues like wheelchair ramps, new furnaces, hazardous steps and railings, drafty windows and doors, just to name a few. We're ready to expand our Critical Pro Repair service this winter when it is needed most.
You know our work and how far every dollar donated is stretched when you donate to a small, but growing cause like ours. You have seen how we double every dollar donated through the volunteers we partner with and the donated materials we secure.
If you have already made a donation during this giving season, we thank you. In a perfect world, everyone living in a dilapidated home would have a friendly, handy neighbor who can lend a hand. Through HomeFront, we can make that a reality for persons with disabilities nearby like Carlos, as well as older adults, veterans, single-parent households, families in crisis and their children.

Giving of One's Time & Talent
The spirit of Giving Tuesday also encompasses gifts of volunteering. Here are a few key volunteer needs we have at the moment.
Right now, we are seeking more skilled volunteers to help with our year-round CPR service where we tackle targeted repairs for families in need. It can be one-half of a day or a few hours. You can contact Lou Valenti for more information.
One of the most rewarding ways to make a difference is to join our network of volunteer Home Visitors to help us evaluate the homes most in need. Construction knowledge is not a requirement. Fall is the perfect time to help us find the homes most in need for next Spring, and it can be done around your schedule. You can contact Sean O’Brien for more information on this role.
