Spectrum and HomeFront Provide Critical Repairs and Restoration to Mount Vernon Home

Spectrum Housing Assist, Charter’s National Philanthropic Initiative to Create Safe and Healthy Homes, Helps Out Local Homeowner

MOUNT VERNON, NY, November 6, 2018 – Twenty Spectrum employee volunteers came together on Saturday, November 3, to help repair and restore the home of Mount Vernon homeowner, Donna.

The event was in support of Charter Communications, Inc.’s (NASDAQ: CHTR) national philanthropic initiative, Spectrum Housing Assist. Helping others is rooted in the company’s commitment to improve 50,000 homes in the communities it serves by 2020.

Spectrum partners with local organization HomeFront to provide critical home repairs to low-income homeowners. In Mount Vernon, Spectrum and HomeFront brought the mission of safe and healthy homes to Donna, a 60 year-old woman who wants to continue living in her home, which has been in her family since the 1930s.

By providing critical home repairs, Spectrum and HomeFront helped transform Donna’s life, offering her relief, support and the assistance she needed. Powered by Spectrum’s financial support and the expertise of HomeFront, Spectrum employee volunteers worked to make essential repairs. The day consisted of providing interior and exterior repairs including siding and painting parts of the home’s exterior, landscaping and repairs to the roof.

The sight of 20 goodhearted volunteers on her doorstep first thing in the morning prompted this reaction from Donna, “It’s really happening. This is happening. No more waiting. This is like a dream.”

“HomeFront is excited to again partner with Spectrum Housing Assist in making critical home repairs to our residents to keep them safe in their homes and neighborhoods,” said Sean O’Brien, executive director, HomeFront Inc.

“At Spectrum, our technicians serve thousands of customers in their homes every day, and through Spectrum Housing Assist, we can serve the community by helping make our neighbors’ homes safe and healthy,” said Kirsten Young, Spectrum director of Community Impact. “All of our area employees are happy to join the talented HomeFront team to make a long-lasting impact in our community.”

Since its inception, Spectrum Housing Assist has helped improve almost 26,000 homes. To learn more about Spectrum Housing Assist, visit communityimpact.spectrum.com.
