HomeFront Receives Grant Award from Disabled Veterans National Foundation

Stamford, CT — Sept. 9, 2022 — HomeFront is honored to announce it has received a grant from the Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF) for $20,000, which will fund vital safety repairs for disabled, low-income veterans.

Sean O’Brien, HomeFront Executive Director said, “The state of Connecticut boasts more than 192,000 residents who have served our country. Many of them are now in need of our help. Their homes are unsafe and unhealthy due to disrepair. A large number of our local heroes lack the financial and physical ability to remedy these issues. This generous award from DVNF catalyzes our local volunteers who yearn to give back to those who served our country through free home repair aid. We are proud to stand in solidarity with an organization that has taken the lead in supporting our local veterans.”

Joseph VanFonda (USMC Sgt.Maj. Ret.), CEO of the Disabled Veterans National Foundation said, “We are very excited to partner with HomeFront. This organization is providing meaningful support to our disabled and at-risk veterans. I can see this program growing each year due to the overwhelming need in the great state of Connecticut.”

About the Disabled Veterans National Foundation:

  • Providing supplemental assistance to homeless and low-income veterans through the Health & Comfort program and various empowerment resources.
  • Providing an online resource database that allows veterans to navigate the complex process of seeking benefits that they are entitled to as a result of their military service, as well as additional resources they need.
