Board Bios

Ken Wiegand — Chair

Ken retired from Webster Bank in 2005 after an eight-year career as a wealth management portfolio manager. Prior to that, he spent ten years with PaineWebber and Tucker Anthony as an investment advisor and broker. In addition, Ken had a varied career including working for U-Haul, locating real estate for their moving centers, and as a professional contractor and business owner, building and renovating homes. Ken began his work with HomeFront in 1992 as a house captain on his first HomeFront Project and as a home evaluator. Ken joined the HomeFront board at its inception in 2009.

Gordon Albert

Gordon is retired from working as the Assistant Area Director at Westchester Community Opportunity Program (WestCOP) & Rockland Community Action Partnership. WestCOP is a private social services organization whose programs combat poverty in the Hudson Valley. Gordon has been a long-time House Captain & Home Evaluator for HomeFront.

Dennis G. Brown, Jr.

Dennis is the Senior Director of Operations for the international humanitarian aid foundation Americares, located in Stamford, CT. Dennis has over 26 years of experience with non-profit organizations. Notably, Dennis served in several roles for HomeFront between 1996–2005 progressing from Operations Manager to Executive Director. Dennis brings years of operating experience, a detailed working knowledge of construction and engineering, and nonprofit management.

Andrew Falcon

Andrew is a career Chief Operating Officer who currently serves as COO at VShift, a small technology and creative consultancy that provides services to enterprise clients in the financial services and healthcare industries. Prior to that, Andrew spent 2 years as Global COO at GP Bullhound, a London-based global financial advisory and investment firm, building its 2030 Vision. This included its first-ever Charitable Foundation. And prior to that, he spent over 11 years as the global COO of Fjord, an international design agency that was acquired by Accenture in 2013. With a legal and financial background, and having worked in investment banking, mining, mobile technology and service design companies across 25+ countries, Andrew thrives on weaving together founders’ visions with investors’ growth targets. Andrew joined HomeFront’s Board in 2023 after regularly volunteering with HomeFront teams in Stamford. He lives in Shippan with his wife, Natalie and two college-aged children.

Margaret Hardner — Secretary

Margaret is a retired executive of Honeywell International, who has held positions in Information Technology, Business Transformation and Change Management. Prior to Honeywell, she was the Vice President of IT for AmeriCares, a non-profit disaster relief and global health organization. In her retirement, she continues to volunteer for HomeFront, a community outreach committee at her church, and the Medical Reserve Corp supporting the public health department. She also volunteers as a professional mentor with Menttium, helping women in technology develop and hone their leadership skills.

Carolyn Lockley

Carolyn’s introduction to Homefront was as a recipient when the HomeFront team came to her home to complete much needed repairs. She told them to include her on the list of volunteers for the following year to bless yet another family. She has continued volunteering as a team member and as a home evaluator. She is a real estate agent with Keller Williams Realty Partners, Inc. and enjoys serving and educating people about home ownership. She is a member of First Baptist Church in Milford and is part of the Praise Dance ministry.

Sean O’Brien — Executive Director

Sean oversees the overall management of HomeFront, a community-based volunteer home repair program that provides quality of life repairs at no cost to homeowners in need. Sean has been involved with HomeFront since 1997, when he began volunteering with the program. Prior to being named Executive Director, Sean served as the program’s Deputy Director for many years. Before joining AmeriCares, he conducted health care research for the Advisory Board Company in Washington, DC. Sean received his Bachelor’s degree in English from Georgetown University.

Peter Valenti, III

Pete retired as Division President of Hologic, Inc. and held many senior executive positions across a 25 year career in healthcare. Prior to Hologic he was Global President of Bausch + Lomb, US GM for Covidien Surgical and held various position across a 12 plus year career with Johnsons & Johnson. Pete serves on boards in the private sector as well as is involved with other charitable organizations. He mentors many up and coming younger executives and also serves as a professional coach to some.

James Wenning — Treasurer

Jim retired from GE Capital in 2019 after a thirty-five-year career in financial services. Jim began his work with HomeFront in 1995 as a house captain on his first HomeFront Project and has participated in over 20 projects. Jim joined the HomeFront Board at its inception in 2009.

Dan Zeno (Hadjstylianos)

Dan is a graphic designer who spent many years studying and working in New York City. He attended the University of Massachusetts and also taught design there. He returned to Connecticut to work as the Art Director for Philips Electronics until 1986. He then started ZenoGraphics, a graphic design group that has worked with several charitable organizations, including The Connecticut Community Foundation, The Watertown Foundation, and Naugatuck Discovery. He began volunteering as team leader and coordinator for HomeFront and for several years he served as District 17 Captain for the greater Waterbury area. Dan has enjoyed many years of helping see the successful completion of projects on very deserving homes. Dan feels extremely privileged to now serve on the Board of Directors.
